Present Surgical Technician, Operating room 11/2010 -- 03/2011 as a student in rotation.
▪ Assisted with scrubbing and surgical procedures in ENT, OB GYN, Endoscopy, gynecology, genitourinary, labor & delivery, general surgeries, vascular, plastics & reconstructive, very minimal orthopedics and neurology.
▪ Quickly and accurately setup counts without supervision, while providing a sterile field in accordance to aseptic techniques.
▪ Exercise a working knowledge of medical terminology, surgical terminology, and hand signals used during surgery.
▪ Able to label, verify, and properly handle a high volume of specimen while continuing to assist the surgeon.
▪ Ensure the decontamination of instruments and equipment and properly dispose of contaminated materials.
▪ Ensured adherence to OSHA and JCAHO regulatory guidelines.
