Linguistics where my skills, training and experience can be effectively
utilized to assist in counter terrorism, homeland security, military

Jan 09 - May 2010 Mission Essential Personnel- Pashto Linguist
Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan
Khowst Province

Provided operational linguistics support on over 100 missions in support of
Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan, provided cultural advice and
awareness to 160 plus soldiers, translated and transcribed foreign
documents and other forms of communication to effectively exploit seized
enemy documentation. I was deployed at Forward Operating Base Salerno in
Eastern Afghanistan for more than a year. During that time I was attached
to a highly specialized infantry strike force where I provided written and
verbal translations while travelling great distances under fire and in
close proximity to the enemy with little or no rest. I have assisted on
tactically questioning Afghan females and eased communication barriers
between US troops and Afghan Border Police. Performed linguistic support to
military operations by translating wide-ranging diplomatic, strategic, and
tactical exchanges between high-level U.S., Coalition, and Afghan leaders.
Advised U.S. Military personnel on Afghan and Islamic cultural
perspectives and the region's historical, political, sociological, and
economic trends during their interactions with local and foreign nationals.
Deployed on over 100 U.S. Military convoy missions to remote sites
throughout Afghanistan under hazardous conditions and in dangerous
environments.
Volunteered in multiple community support campaigns to assemble and
package donated clothing and school supplies and then distribute them to
children at schools in the Kabul area.


Jun 05 - Dec 08 Fry's Electronic- Assistant Store Manager

Provided management expertise to six departments and 70 customer service
representatives to ensure that training programs were fully implemented and
integrated into daily working environment. Created or implemented
financial oversight and auditing programs to verify that 100% of all
revenue was accounted for. There was no loss of revenue, under the
programs I implemented, for the following two fiscal years. Supervised
handling of 90% of all customer service issues, greatly expanding the store
manager's ability to concentrate on effective store management practices.
Assigned as components sales associate in charge of providing guidance and
expertise to customers and verifying that they received components needed
to assemble computer operating systems from the ground up.
