systems using open source UNIX and JAVA technologies.

different locations, both domestically and internationally, with a

customers connected to the NASDAQ Stock Market using high-speed
switching equipment.

locations.
. Resolved network reliability issues within the first six months of
assignment by implementing network redesign and aggressive problem and
change management philosophies.
. Designed and implemented an advanced MPLS network design that combined
multiple services on a single TCP/IP infrastructure that retired
Galileo International's legacy networks using IBM's SNA and X.25
protocols and reduced the annual network budget by $50M.
. Installed and configured a 50 node MPLS backbone network and migrated
over 30,000 end-user locations in 18 months.
. Designed and implemented network operation centers in both the US and
UK to support and operate the 30,000 end-user network in a 24 by 7

. Reduced computer operations cost by 40% in 1993 by migrating the
Galileo UK Data Center to Denver, Colorado from Swindon, UK.
. Responsible for the computer operation departments providing travel
reservation services to both Galileo and United Airlines at 99.99%
availability levels in a 24 by 7 operations environment.
. Responsible for the operations and support of 22 large IBM mainframe
systems running MVS and TPF operating systems. The environment
included over 100 TB of disk storage and 400 tape drives.
. Responsible for the following technical areas: computer operations,
system administration, storage management, database administration,
desktop support, facilities and problem/change management.
. Designed and implemented a complete system management solution using
HP Openview in support of the migration from IBM mainframes to an open
system environment.

area by consolidating storage and automating tape operations.

determined applicability for use in the Galileo Reservation System.
. Sponsored and managed new technology projects that enabled Galileo to
deploy Windows workstations in United Airlines airport locations.

using advance EMC storage devices thus reducing the processing time
from 23 hours to less than one hour.
. Designed and implemented large test environment supporting several
hundred developers by consolidating multiple systems into one large
IBM mainframe thus saving the cost of two systems and increasing the
reliability of the development environment.
